Miss Alyssa McGrath

"Alyssa is a senior at Dean College earning her BFA in dance performance with a concentration in jazz."

Alyssa McGrath is a dancer, born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. She lives with her mom, dad, and little sister Ashley. She was influenced by her older cousin to start taking dance lessons. When Alyssa turned seven, she joined Beverly Richards Dance Center in Orient Heights, East Boston. She has been on the competition team since the age of nine.

 

A pivotal moment in her career was in 2014 at a national competition where she received a special award for her solo. This meant a lot to her and this moment was when she realized she wanted to go to college and pursue dance professionally.

 

At the age of sixteen, Alyssa became a graduate of the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston Dance Education Training course and auditioned and received the Dean Scholarship, a $20,000.00 four year renewable scholarship award. While taking this course she studied under Tom Ralabate, E Laura Hausmann, and Diane Gudat. Currently, Alyssa is a senior at Dean College earning her BFA in dance performance with a concentration in jazz.

 

Alyssa is a graduate of Dean College. Alyssa wants to perform for the Walt Disney Company. Besides performing, she also has an interest in fitness, dance therapy, and education. 

Miss Ashley McGrath

Ashley McGrath has been dancing since she was three years old. She is a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. At St. Mary's, Ashley was the captain of the St. Mary’s Dance Team and

the co-president of the St. Mary’s Student Council. Ashley will be starting her sophomore year at Simmons College.

 

While attending Beverly Richards Dance Center, she has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, modern, contemporary, acro and musical theatre. She has also been a member of the Beverly Richards Dance Center Competition Team since she was seven years old.

 

Ashley has performed both in regional competitions as well as national competitions, receiving numerous high score overall achievements in both group and solo routines. She enjoys all things dance and has recently found a love for teaching dance.

Ms. Courtney Carey

"Ms. Courtney loves to dance and loves, even more, to share her passion with students of all ages. She is extremely excited to be joining Beverly Richards Dance Center."

Mrs. Jade Baglio

Jade Alexa Baglio is the former head Instructor at BRDC. Jade is a graduate of Salem State University, where she attained a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Sport and Movement Science Major with a concentration in Dance.  While there she received the Creativity Award for her achievements while in the dance program.  Jade has co-coordinated, choreographed, and performed for the Salem State University’s Dance Ensemble, which includes faculty and student work. She has had her choreographic work performed and adjudicated at the American College Dance Festival, Shows, along with Regional and National Dance Competitions where her choreography has received many special awards, such as best/most creative choreography and overall high point.  

 

Jade is a certified Para-Educator for the state of Massachusetts and a graduate of the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston, Inc. with the American Society Dance Education Training Course. Jade is also a member of Massachusetts Association for Health, Physical Education, recreation, and Dance, National Dance Education Organization, Massachusetts Dance Education Organization, and the National Honor Society for Dance.  

 

Jade was a featured back up dancer and “Gothic Cheerleader” with Weird Al Yankovic, was a selected performer for Jose’ Mateo’s Ballet Theatre Dance For World Community, and was named Dance Spirit Magazines, "2011 Miss Dance Massachusetts".   

 

Jade gives all of the credit for her continued passion for dance to her students who are always so eager to learn and also find a way to teach her beautiful life lessons in return!
